I saw the new Batman movie the other day and the movie seems to be apologizing for the use of torture to fight terrorism, the use of unwarranted wiretapping and surveillance of citizens to fight terrorism, the use of local government and law enforcement and newspapers and television to deceive the general population “for their own good.”
While there is no sexual content, no swearing, and no blood and guts the twisted situations and themes of this film will have your stomach churning.
Is all of this honorable constitution and civil rights stuff just packaging for general consumption to make us feel good about ourselves while other more sinister values are being carried out in reality?

All the hours of watching NOVA, Discovery and History I am convinced of our greatness until I walk out my door. Everything looks good on paper until we apply it to practice. Like communism it will all fail until we factor in greed. Basically that is it. Mankind/Human potential is met by perhaps the greatest of survival instincts. Self.
Due to minor problems that become major insecurities well rounded humans do not mix well with the lesser and wealthy, our greatest obstacle and weakness. Most all and creative endeavors are lost on these souls and there is some crazy nut gathering instinct that articulates itself in the backs of their cerebellum and festers this need to procure at all costs rather than except the fellow welfare of beings.
I remember my father always saying “nothing is for free.” At fifteen (hungriest years of my life) I didn’t agree with this mainly because I could find many things for free. There was always free food in Wesley’s mother’s fridge all I had to do was wake up in the middle of the night to take it… the world was full of free stuff if you were willing to take it, laptops, walkmans, a girls love after much convincing… or pretending. You can take it all if you don’t grow up in other words. The reality is everything comes at a cost and you realize the cost.
At 2008 I look now at the big picture always and try to figure what went wrong. Logically my only conclusion is greed. Now, 10,000 years from a sharpened flint stone to the G3 I-phone we have pathetically still kept the infrastructure intact. “The weak hoarders are still out for nothing but themselves using the betterment of mankind as an excuse for their greed.”

Taking human genome exploration as a whole, what will happen? I mean, everything could be solved, but what is the most likely outcome of this? Figuring out everything that could ever kill you, what you are perceptive to, what you are immune too. Nothing will happen instead insurance companies will somehow invest and figure out Gattaca ways to cut you out of some job hiring process. Hedge the odds in their favor for some home loan life insurance bid.

Upon your questions and indications I have re-watched all the old Howard Zinn videos and Noam Chomsky. And have formulated an opinion which much agrees with your hypothesis.

In Spain the Russians first attacked the news media, in Germany WWII our main missions from the get go was to take out communication Killing 30,000 French civilians in the process. This is all before D-day. In military terms they call that com-mo.
In Bosnia I watched and hog or pig of sorts eat the leg of some human I never knew, the addias shoe rocked back and forth on the end of the calf that the hog was chewing on… for a moment, with my empty unloaded gun I thought about shooting the pig… then eating it, but fuck, I never really wanted to eat swine that was eating us.

I just enjoy discussing the stuff. You say it is the ebb and flow. I agree with that but it is also an easy way out of difficult questions. Mind control via propaganda ( and super hero films ) is an interestng subject… it is all tied into the “greater good” question.
I don’t think the hidden hand is in total control; I just enjoy exploring how and why the hidden hands operate. MOst people think the idea is just akin to ufo’s so that leaves a monster opportunity to make money an power by exploiting it.
I’m happy to put my views out there so others won’t feel so much pressure to conform with the norm. Having someone in the sphere of influence who is expanding the limits shifts the “center” of everyone. More info nuggets with which to use in decisions and opinion forming. I have already had a large effect. And if another more prominent person within our sphere of influence also “steps out” the effect is exponentially larger moving the paradigm center even further. A fantastic voyage.
