Voice-recognition compatible client-side wiki recommendations?

I am currently using some wiki software on my computer ( referred to as client-side ) to keep track of projects… the software is called “Confluence” and works fairly well with Dragon NaturallySpeaking voice-recognition. However for a couple of reasons I’m not totally satisfied and every now and then I do I do go search for “Voice-recognition compatible client-side wiki” related terms to see if anything has come out recently. If anyone out there comes across this page and knows of something better please leave a comment. Today I found a client-side wiki called “Tiddly wiki” which looks very simple but unfortunately it is not voice-recognition friendly.

New Vocola voice-recognition command for searching my desktop with Google desktop search

I use Google desktop search to search my computer; up until now I didn’t spend the time to work out how to easily search my desktop using a voice-recognition command. Well now it is done and I thought I would share how I did it and what exactly it enables me to do.

Let’s say that I want to find all e-mails on my computer that contained the phrase “wild turkey”… I would say “desktop search for wild turkey” and voilà… the desktop search results would be displayed in my browser. Here is a Vocola command:

Here are some handy Vocola commands for working with social bookmarking sites.

If I’m in my browser looking at a interesting webpage I can easily add it to my delicious social bookmarks by saying “add to delicious”.

If I would like to search delicious for Bali surf bungalows I would say “search delicious for Bali surf bungalows”.

You will need to substitute your delicious username to get this to work. My delicious username is “brilliantpebbles”.

Vocola commands for Google

Here are some handy commands that I have set up for my browser to use different Google features.

If I want to view the definition of the word I just say “Google define fascism” and the next thing you know I will be looking at Google’s definition for fascism.

If I want to search Google for hotels in Phuket I would just say “Google for hotels in Phuket”.

If I wanted to do a blog search for hotels in Phuket I would say “blog search for hotels in Phuket”.

The “search this site for” command is not yet working correctly. It is meant to search the current website you are looking at for whatever text you utter.for example let’s say you are reading an article about how 9/11 was an inside job on the New York Times website and you wanted to search the New York Times website for other occurrences of 9/11 articles. You would say “search this site for 9/11″.

Vocola voice recognition commands for Skype

The Vocola commands allow me to initiate Skype calls from within my browser. Skype has poor shortcut support so this is the best workaround I’ve found so far.

When I say “call someone now” I can then utter a phone number such as 555-213-9610 and then say press enter. A Skype window will pop up asking me if I really want to make a call and I say “okay” and the call is initiated.

If I want to call Johannes I just have to say “call Johannes now” and Skype will give me the pop up window to verify that I want to make the call.

If I have a phone number on the clipboard I just have to say “call clipboards now” and the phone call will be initiated.

Vocola commands for RoboForm

I use a little bit of software called RoboForm to help me keep track of all my Internet logins. This software should be in any Internet users toolkit. Here is an example of how I use my RoboForm :

Logging into your bank account online without RoboForm: open your browser, type in the website address for your bank, click on the login link, enter your username and your password, click on the submit button.

Logging into your bank account online with RoboForm: click on the RoboForm logins button, click on your online bank account shortcut.

That’s it; just two clicks and RoboForm automatically opens your browser, visit the website address, enter your username and password, click on the submit button, and there you are.

I use it for logging into all sorts of different websites such as forums, Google accounts, e-mail accounts, credit card accounts, website hosting control panels, etc..

I am using the software in conjunction with voice recognition software and Vocola. Here are the commands that I have set up that allow me to quickly log into my websites via voice recognition:
