If you're getting this message while you're trying to post to your WordPress blog that is hosted on Dreamhost with Windows live writer than you need to go into your WordPress miscellaneous settings and change your "store uploads in this folder" setting so that it looks like this: I found the solution on this guys website. Resisting the urge to upgrade… must resist.

So far I'm very pleased with this Windows live writer... I was looking at the "plug-ins" website and this one looks somewhat interesting to cross post blog entries to other social media platforms such as twitter and FaceBook.  After attempting to install it and wanted me to upgrade to ".net 3.5"... now I see why Microsoft is giving away the software for free... because it forces people to upgrade parts of their operating system which in turn makes developing on the Microsoft platform more attractive to software vendors which in turn creates more software available for Windows which in turn completes the cycle.

Windows live writer photo gallery functionality

If you want to use the photo gallery functionality from Windows live writer you will need to use your Windows live account.   View Full Album Once you publish the blog post the images are uploaded to your Windows live account.  When you click on the "view full album" link it will bring you to your Windows live photo gallery.

RocketPost Versus Windows Live Writer

You can actually update your web log without logging in to your blog account… you just need to install a program on your computer like rocket post or Windows live writer.  I installed both of them and here are some of my observations: With Windows live writer you can paste screenshots directly into the application from your clipboard… you can then crop, rotate, add borders, adjust contrast, or other special effects.
