I have set up a new photo album on my photo gallery called the “what’s new” photo album.  I frequently have the urge to take photos and publish them to the Internet and then run into some problems that cause me to not take the photos and not publish them to the Internet.  Here is an example of how that problem arises:

I go out and take some photos.
I forget or am too tired to publish the photos that same day.
I go out and take some more photos on another day.
I forget or am too tired to publish the photos that same day.
I go out and take some more photos on another day.
I make the time to upload the photos and pour myself a cup of coffee.
I realize that I have a mix of random photos.
I come up with some elaborate organizational scheme involving keywords and tagging that will allow me to do all sorts of time-saving things in the future when I need to find or use some of my photographs.
I realize that if I want to use the same photos on my weblog I should probably create some custom categories as well.
I get about halfway through my new organizational scheme and think that there has to be a better way to do this.
I go online and start looking for some sort of software that will help me.
In the bottom of my screen I see that I have a new e-mail.
I quickly reply to an e-mail.
I continue my search for the software and get sidetracked by an interesting news story.
Someone send me an instant message on Skype.
By this time the charm of my new photographs has worn off and I think that there is no way anyone will want to look at them so why bother.
And the whole project is abandoned.

However the what’s new photo album is much different.  It will allow me to skip over the usual obstacles and satisfy my urge to upload.  Friends and family can always find the newest photos.  And nobody is expecting too much.  “Managing expectations” as James would say.

So don’t expect much except for what’s new.
