Stuff that only geeks would be interested in. Of course when I say “geeks” I really mean the cool guys because geeks are actually cool and cool guys are actually dipshits.

Social Spark Review, March 2010

I'm still trying to wrap my head around all of the possibilities SocialSpark could be used for.  Most people might try to use it simply to boost their search engine ranking... but to the thinking observer it is obvious that this tool could be very helpful in generating interest about something, creating content, or doing market research. For example if you were designing a new T-shirt and you wanted to find out what the general public thought of it before you printed 1000 T-shirts you could use social spark to get that feedback.  Of course you need to pay each person for their time and attention... and you decide how much you want to pay them.  In fact you decide [...]

A market for buying blog entries from bloggers

I'm trying to find out if there is a matchmaking website out there that specializes in making it easy and cheap to have your business recommended, reviewed, or mentioned on blogs or other websites. I just googled for "a market for buying blog entries from bloggers" and there was nothing there.  So now I just tried googling for "blog mention matchmaking service" which produced no results as well. Jackpot... I just searched for "product placement on blogs" and found this. Exactly what I was looking for.  I'll do some research and report back!

Resisting the urge to upgrade… must resist.

So far I'm very pleased with this Windows live writer... I was looking at the "plug-ins" website and this one looks somewhat interesting to cross post blog entries to other social media platforms such as twitter and FaceBook.  After attempting to install it and wanted me to upgrade to ".net 3.5"... now I see why Microsoft is giving away the software for free... because it forces people to upgrade parts of their operating system which in turn makes developing on the Microsoft platform more attractive to software vendors which in turn creates more software available for Windows which in turn completes the cycle.

RocketPost Versus Windows Live Writer

You can actually update your web log without logging in to your blog account… you just need to install a program on your computer like rocket post or Windows live writer.  I installed both of them and here are some of my observations: With Windows live writer you can paste screenshots directly into the application from your clipboard… you can then crop, rotate, add borders, adjust contrast, or other special effects. Images are automatically published when you click save. RocketPost would not allow you to paste in screenshots directly from the clipboard… however I did have a "capture screen" […]
