Stuff that only geeks would be interested in. Of course when I say “geeks” I really mean the cool guys because geeks are actually cool and cool guys are actually dipshits.

Photoshop nebula experiment

Another Photoshop experiment. To create the background in this image I used a radial gradient. A chrome filter was applied to the gradient. The wispy lines were created by using the pen tool to create a path, you then stroke a path with a brush by right clicking on a path and selecting "stroke". If you have a fat brush then your path will be stroked with a fat brush using the foreground color. After that I just added some glow and drop shadow to the whiskey lines. Then to create the different nebular colors I added another layer on top of everything with a radial gradient. Changing the "blending mode" for the layer is essential. Experiment. Repeat this process [...]

Psychedelic Buddha

I made some more time today to play around in Photoshop... here's the outcome. It was actually a tutorial on how to make the face of a clock... as you can see I have gone slightly astray. I was playing with the "reveal all" layer mask and repetitive transformations. Here is how to create the evenly spaced Buddhas: The first trick is to press "control + t" to get into transformation mode. Hold down the shift key and drag the center point of the bounding box well below the bounding box. This will be the point where your item rotates from. Punch 30° into the rotation box on the top and then press enter to finalize the transformation. The Buddha [...]

I wonder how mine would turn out.

Don’t ask me to help you fix your computer unless you use this backup product.

I use a product called Acronis true image to make daily backups of my entire computer to my external terabyte hard drive.  Whenever something goes wrong with my computer I can just roll back one or two days to fix the problem.  For example if I accidentally visit some porn website and get a virus (  virtual STDs?  ) I can do one of two things… spend hours and hours trying to figure out a way to kill the virus or use Acronis true image to revert my computer to a state when the virus did not exist.  Clearly the latter method is less time-consuming and therefore better.
