Stuff that only geeks would be interested in. Of course when I say “geeks” I really mean the cool guys because geeks are actually cool and cool guys are actually dipshits.

Idea for James to make extra cash

James; have you checked out istockphoto.com? I think you could make some cash by selling your photoshop work there… here are just some of the designs/images I have bookmarked for purchasing for future projects http://www.istockphoto.com/file_search.php?action=file&lightboxID=3522444 Here is how it works; artists work up their stuff and upload it to istock photo and set their price. Web designers, graphic artists, etc come and browse your work and buy it if they like it for reasonable prices. You get a share of the sale price and so does istock. Not sure about the percentages. People buy photos, video, vector artwork, photoshop layouts, anything. No porn so don’t bother uploading your “low hangers.” I’ve seen lots of designs that sell over and over [...]

San Juan News Discussion Forum Launched

Here is another project I have under development; I don't know why I didn't set up this site earlier because I have thought about it several hundred times.  All of the newspapers in the San Juan Islands have failed to innovate with regards to allowing their visitors to communicate with each other.  So I have set up a discussion forum for locals to discuss local news headlines.  I have been loading it up with the headlines every day and just started to promote it on some of my other websites in the islands but I need help getting people talking.  If you find any of the subjects interesting please don't be shy to start posting replies.  Just click on the [...]

software WishList… desktop tagging

Ever wish there was software out there that could do certain things?  Well I wish I had some desktop "tagging " software.  If you have ever used Gmail than you will be familiar with how you can tag your e-mail messages so that you can easily find them in the future.  All sorts of software is allowing you to tag things nowadays however I can't find any basic software that allows you to tag files and folders and contacts and other stuff on my computer.  I do have some photo editing software that allows you to tag files of any kind however it is accomplished in sort of a roundabout way.  If you know of any software like this or [...]

Quick Update..

Almost finished with www.kitsapnaturalmedicine.com …. An all css based layout. Will add blog functionality soon. Johannes, Pete, and Erin have purchased to San Juan excursions; the whale watch Company in Friday Harbor. I have been enjoying my last.FM playlists; they are evolving every day and introducing me to new music.  I also like how I never have to set up a playlist or put mental energy into deciding what music I want to listen to. And "saving mental energy" is what some people think it is all about.

Google makes a simple business decision; lie by omission to make money.

If you do an image search on Google China for "Tiananmen Square" you receive this information: http://images.google.cn/images?hl=zh-CN&ie=UTF-8&q=Tiananmen+Square&um=1&sa=N&tab=wi If you do an image search on Google America for "Tiananmen Square" you receive this information: http://images.google.com/images?q=Tiananmen+Square&oe=UTF-8&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wi&oi=property_suggestions&resnum=0&ct=property-revision&cd=1 I guess we can't really blame them for wanting to make millions of dollars off of the Chinese population; I mean they are just a business trying to do business in another country.  However we should pay attention to what this says about the business ethics of Google.  They will happily lie by omission to billions of people and get paid handsomely for doing it. Let us not have any illusions about the way our "information sources" make their business and ethical decisions.  They will happily [...]
